Our revolutionary technology adds unprecedented speed and reliability. Using an all new and patented design approach, we have developed a fundamentally new class of linear motor. Simple and elegant, it offers a dramatic increase in speed over existing technology in a simple and rugged design. Using wireless energy transfer, there are no moving electrical connections or brushes to wear out. The moving section is simply a solid metal tube, and can be constructed from light, non-magnetic metals such as aluminum alloy. In addition, the electrical drive coil has inherently low inductance, ramping up the drive force from zero to maximum in a matter of microseconds. This cannot be done with conventional solenoid or eddy current repulsion devices because they rely on a different magnetic principle, requiring a magnetic field gradient that is inherently slow to generate. Our motor/actuator uses an entirely new approach with two separate orthogonal magnetic systems occupying the same space. This design, coupled with the lightweight aluminum tube, produce a solution that is orders of magnitude faster than existing technology and with the potential of a nearly limitless operating lifetime.
